Sony Unviels first commercial OLED TV

A while back I mentioned about OLED Displays or Organic Light Emitting Diode Displays and how sexy they look (gotta love sexy electronics). Finally Sony are the first to the market with a implemention of OLEDs in a TV. The 11 inch (yer not that big) XEL-1 will be on sale in December in Japan for a RRP of 200,000 YEN which roughly equates to $2000 Australian. Quite are large amount out cash for a tiny screen but such is technology right . It wasn't long ago when people were parting with $10,000 40inch Plamas and now those very TVs (with updated tech) go for less than half that. So we just have to play the waiting game folks and then we can enjoy the pros and cons of OLED displays.
Just in case you were wondering the pros of the OLED screens are improved color reproduction, faster per pixel on/off rate, no backlighting required (so far less power consumption; Sony is claiming 40% less) and because the material is Organic it is far less taxing on the Earth to produce.

Be a great TV for the Kitchen bench!
/runs around in circles on the floor
Wooohoo I finally got a PS3; a Australian 60gig sealed in box to be precious. Got it for a small price of 720 inc registered post of the wonderful eBay (better than the 998 you'll pay in stores).
In other news my other website got hacked woo! They put some script in the footer of the page which in PHPBB2 makes SQL errors sprout up so I opened up all the PHP files on the site (theres a f**ken ton of them) and removed the script. Now I just gotta change my passwords to keep it nice and secure
